Finally got the hatch lids bolted on so they squeeze down tightly onto 1/4" closed cell foam gaskets, glued to the inside of the lids.
The flush latches aren't flush yet. I'll deal with that in the spring. Take all the hardware off. Do a little last minute fairing and then paint it. I used oil base house paint the last time--for $40 bucks a gallon. I'll probably sand it off and use Petitt Easy Poxy this time, for $40 a quart. There is a local paint store that says they'll tint the Easy Poxy for me. Start with white and then make it look like river mud. So it looks dirty when it's clean. And clean when it's dirty.
Easy Poxy is no cheaper than automotive paint. And automotive paint can be tinted to any color imaginable. Tangerine flakes and all. But at least with Petitt you can touch up with a brush. Automotive paint has to be sprayed. No matter what.
I'll leave it outside all winter. Need to get going on some new 4x18' foot plywood panels for making a wooden plug--on which to mold a Plascore hull. For a 16-17' foot decked river-running and river-camping boat.
